appclap is built to be useful without being invasive. Here’s everything we collect, why, and what we don’t do with it.

What we collect

  • Search queries. We log the search terms you type so we can improve the index and write better content about what people actually want.
  • Result clicks. When you click into an app or visit one, we log which app, position, and the query that surfaced it.
  • An anonymous session ID. A random UUID stored in your browser’s localStorage so we can tell repeat visits apart without ever knowing who you are.

What we don’t collect

  • Your name, email, or any account information — we don’t have accounts.
  • Your IP address (beyond standard server logs).
  • Cross-site tracking. No third-party analytics, no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics.

What we don’t do with it

  • Sell it. Ever.
  • Share it with the apps we index.
  • Use it to rank apps. Rankings are based on what fits your query, not who pays.

Cookies

We don’t set tracking cookies. The session ID lives in localStorage, which is per-browser and per-device.

Reports & feedback

If you submit a wrong-info report or include your email for follow-up, we’ll only use that email to reply about the specific report. We won’t add you to any list.
